1. What book are you currently reading?

I am currently reading a mixture of 4 books, a position I am rarely in. However, I am reading them all for different purposes, so I’m OK with it.

You Just Don’t Understand by Deborah Tannen. I am reading this book for my English Language class. Tannen has some really interesting ideas and theories regarding lexical differences between genders.

The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald. I am currently reading (and loving) this book for my English Literature class.

100 Prized Poems: Twenty-Five Years of the Forward Books. I’m currently reading this collection of poetry as part of my New Year’s resolution to read more poetry! This book has some of the best/most prized poems from the last 25 years, so I figured it would be an interesting place to start.

The Trees by Ali Shaw. And finally, I am currently reading The Trees by Ali Shaw for pleasure. I’m loving this book so far!

2. What’s the last book you finished?

The last book I finished is Love and Misadventure by Lang Leav, another attempt on my part to read more poetry. This collection was so beautiful, and I really loved how it was layed out. It reminded me a lot of Trista Mateer’s work.

3. Favourite book you read this year?

Because we’ve barely made a dent into 2017, I’ll answer this for 2016:

It’s crazy to think that I had no idea what this series was even about this time last year. I feel like The Raven Cycle has been in my life forever. Read all about my favourite books of 2016 here.

4. What genre have read most this year?

I read quite a mixture in 2016, from autobiographies to magical realism to fantasy to historical fiction. That being said, I always come back to contemporaries, and I always come back to YA. You can’t deny what you love most!

5. What genre have you read least this year?

My go-to answer to this question is sci-fi, but I actually dabbled in sci-fi a bit in 2016. I would probably have to say mystery or horror instead.

6. What genre do you want to read more of?

2 of my New Year’s Resolutions are to read more poetry, and to read more autobiographies. I also want to read more books about feminism, but that’s another story…

7. How many books have you read this year, and what’s your goal?

Last year, the goal was to read 80 books, and I managed that at the last second! This year, the goal is to read 100 books. Thus far, I have read 2 books… I’m on track!

8. What’s the last book you bought?

A textbook.

The last book(s) I purchased are: A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara, and Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro.

I also recently purchased The Raven Cycle in physical copies – because I originally read the series on my Kindle – but I wanted to mention these 2 books. I’ve heard so many great reviews for both!

9. What book are you saving up to buy next?

I’m always saving for books! Most of all though, I really want to read some Adam Silvera novels, namely History is All You Left Me. The synopsis just makes me want more!

10. How many books did you check out last library visit?

I don’t really go to the library… I know, I know, that’s blasphemy when I’m surrounded by bookworms! But my library just isn’t very good…

11. What’s a book you can’t wait to read?

Image result for more than this

I recently downloaded a copy of this novel from the Kindle store, and it’s been winking at me every time I’ve unlocked the device! I cannot wait to read this book!

12. What’s a series you’d recommend to everyone?

Image result for the mortal instruments books

The Mortal Instruments is a series I recommend to absolutely everyone, whether they’ve recently got into reading, or they’ve always loved it. Yes, this series is imperfect, but it’s so much fun to read TMI, because you learn about so many different lives and cultures in the process.

13. Who’s an author you’re hoping writes more?

I’m always on the lookout for more Rainbow Rowell books! I wish she and Morgan Matson would release books every year! But, alas, I know they wouldn’t be as great if they had to force them out and rush them…

14. A few books your heart adores?

Here are a few books with a special place in my heart:

15. What series’ coming conclusion makes you sad?

I don’t actually have an answer for this… The only series I’m mid-way through because its sequels haven’t been released is The Dark Artifices by Cassandra Clare, but book 2 is coming out soon, so I’m only excited, not sad!

16. What books are on your wish-list?

Literally every book in the world. Please send help.

I’m not going to tag anyone specifically, but if you feel like completing this tag, please do!
