Happy Tuesday, everybody! You know what time it is…
“Top Ten Tuesday” is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and this week’s prompt is:
Holiday Gift Guide freebie
Though I’m ‘one of those people’ who think November is too early to roll out the Christmas lights and blast the Christmas songs, I will concede and list a few books I think would make the perfect gift for the book lover in your life. Because, after all, time flies, and it’ll be Christmas before we all know it – get your shopping done!
My True Love Gave to Me by Stephanie Perkins
I said it last year, and I’ll say it this year: This is the perfect book for a YA Christmas lover. The absolute pinnacle of gifts. Honestly, this is the best book you could get them. My True Love Gave to Me is a collection of 12 short stories written by some of YA’s greatest authors, all about the festive season. What’s not to love?
(Even better, buy the book lover in your life this novel before Christmas to get them into the festive spirit ASAP!)
Doodling for Bookworms
I recieved this book for my birthday this year, and – I have to day – it may have been the best thing I’ve ever recieved. I just love it so much! It’s witty and adorable, and there are so many doodling activites to do when putting off other work I should be doing! I’m joking. But I have actually found this book really usefulf or winding down after a stressful day, much like the adult colouring books that are so popular (which I also recommend).
Harry Potter Illustrated
I mean, come on! These books are so gorgeous!
I’ll let you guys into a little secret: My friends and I are playing Secret Santa this year, and my lucky recipient is going to recieve Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone: Illustrated. I’m actually really tempted to keep it for myself just because of how gorgeous it is – from the story (obviously) to the illustrations, even to the paper quality and the dust jacket. Honestly, these books are flawless, and – what’s more – perfect for everybody: If your book lover loves Harry Potter (who doesn’t?) then they will be extremely grateful for this gift; if your book lover has never read Harry Potter, what a perfect excuse to persuade them to! I need to get myself a copy!
A Classic with a Gorgeous Cover
I’m leaving this one a little more open to suggestion and your own initiative. If you have a classic in mind to buy your book lover, then perfect: now to find the gorgeous cover. If you are yet to find the perfect classic, look around a little: with classic novels, you’re bound to be able to find something that will appeal to your book lover. They are also timeless, and thus definitely appreciated (I speak from experience). Personally, I would recommend some of the Penguin English Library editions (a select few are pictured above). Every single one is beautiful.
Thank you for reading!
Which book would you love to recieve for Christmas this year? Tell me in the comments!
