Happy Tuesday, everybody! You know what time it is…
“Top Ten Tuesday” is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and this week’s prompt is:
Thanks Giving Freebee! Tell us what you’re thankful for!
I’m a Brit, so Thanksgiving kind of goes over my head. Nevertheless, there are plenty of books I’m thankful for, and so I’m going to name a few for you all today. Here we go!
The Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvater
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: The Raven Cycle is an amazing series. Because of this book, I was able to read about magical realism and the importance of friendships and the strong bonds people form with one another. For that, I am thankful.
Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell
This book taught me that I wasn’t the only one out there feeling the feels – there’s a whole world of people who have strong connections to fictional characters, allowing me to discover a community of people just like me online, stopping me feeling alone in my fangirling. For that, I am thankful.
The Shatter Me Series by Tahereh Mafi
If it weren’t for this series – the amazing writing, the feels, and how I just wanted to talk about it at every waking moment – I wouldn’t have started blogging. For that, I am thankful everyday.
The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky
I read this book as I entered high school – just as everything started getting bigger, and the reality of life really started kicking in. If it weren’t for Charlie and his letters in Perks, I wouldn’t have navigated high school in the same way, and probably wouldn’t have ended up the person I am today. For that, I am thankful.
OK, yeah, that list was short. But I didn’t want to use the theme sparingly! These are books I am truely, deeply grateful to have in my life. These, and every book ever published, because, you know, books.
Thank you for reading!
Which book have you owned for a long time, but just never got around to reading? Tell me in the comments!
Keep an eye out for more Top Ten Tuesday posts from me!
