NYC in Pictures | LibroLiv

Last Christmas, my mum surprised me with the most amazing gift: A 5 day trip to New York City following my GCSE exams. We left on the 10th of July, and returned on the 15th, and everyday since my mind has been stuck on how amazing is was.

Here are some pictures from that trip…

Flying home… 😦

The sheer scale of Manhattan was very jarring. Everything was much bigger than I could even imagine, let alone fathom. I could never fit a full building into my field of vision, nor could I ever eat a full meal – the portions were so big!

To this day, it’s difficult to put words together that would justify the magnificence of New York City. It was a one in a lifetime experience to go to such a place, such a place that feels mythical in my head – I have not yet come to terms with its existence. This trip must have been a dream, because NYC feels so dreamlike as you’re walking down its streets.

It was just amazing to visit such an acclaimed city. This is one trip I will never forget.

  1. Unfortunately your photos wouldn’t load for me, but New York City is truly magical. I was there about two months ago and it was so hard to squeeze everything you want to do in a short amount of time. I only went for 4 days, I felt like I needed a full week in order to see and do everything! I did pretty much everything you did minus going up to the top of the Rock. We went up to the Empire State Building so we didn’t feel the need to go up to see the skyline again. I also didn’t get to walk on the Brooklyn bridge, but I made it to Brooklyn & the Bronx.

    1. Sorry you didn’t get to see them 😦
But yes, I agree, New York is a beautiful place. We also felt a little rushed packing everything in but we knew we had to, and it was definitely worth it in the end. My only downside would be that I only saw Manhattan and Brooklyn, and none of the other parts of the city.
      Thanks for commenting 🙂

      1. It’s a big city with lots to do so it’s understandable that you can’t see everything! I know how you feel though me & my mum were non-stop the entire four days we were there, from 10am the Monday morning we arrived to the 5pm Thursday when we left.
